Bengaluru, 3 October

More than 2,000 people, including around 500 school students, took part in a youth mental health run at Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park on Saturday, organised by 16-year-old Imaan Zara Khan, a Grade 11 student and 1M1B Changemaker.

1M1B (One Million for One Billion) is a United Nations-accredited non-profit organisation that runs the Changemakers World Cup, a youth-driven social impact movement for students under 18.

Organised by Gagner Sports, an event management company that organises marathons, ahead of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, the event featured 3K, 5K and 10K runs. The 3K Unspoken Run carried the message, ‘A step for every conversation we never had’.

The run is part of Imaan’s Project SAFE, which focuses on adolescent mental health. Her documentary on mental health will be screened at the United Nations on 20 November.
